MT. PLEASANT β A Louisiana woman and mother of six chained herself to the front gate of a Keystone XL Pipeline yard Wednesday morning in Titus County. The action prevented workers building the southern leg of the TransCanada pipeline from getting in. While chained to the fence, Cherri Foytlin explained what brought her to Texas to join in the protest. Foytlin said, βIt all started with the BP oil spill, and I was just awakened to the fact that these companies, in this case a foreign company just like BP, are not being responsible to our earth and to our people.β About an hour later, Foytlin was arrested and taken into custody.
