Three Arrested for Aggravated Assault and Robbery

TYLER — Tyler Police responded to a reported assault around 8:45 on the 2000 block of North Carlyle. As officers arrived on scene, the suspects in the assault had returned and were assaulting the victim again. The suspects in the case had a machete and a baseball bat with them. Upon further investigation it was determined that the three suspects had actually assaulted and stolen property from Adalberto Garcia. The suspects then came back and assaulted Garcia again. Officers were advised that the incident stems from a possible confrontation that occurred the day before. Manuel Verde,18, Adan Gonzalez, 17, and Martin Ruiz, 24, (pictured) were arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and robbery. They were booked into Smith County Jail. The victim in the case sustained minor injuries.
