Dallas Man Sentenced for Drug Trafficking

TYLER – A 28-year-old Dallas man has been sentenced in federal prison in Tyler for drug trafficking violations. Rafael Maciel pleaded guilty in May to possession with intent to distribute cocaine. He was sentenced to 57 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Michael H. Schneider. According to federal prosecutors, on January 26, Maciel was in possession of around 3 kilograms of cocaine which he intended to deliver to others in East Texas. Maciel was indicted by a federal grand jury in March.
