Lufkin Man Indicted on Murder Charges

LUFKIN — An Angelina County grand jury indicted a Lufkin man in the stabbing deaths of his girlfriend and her brother. According to KETK and the Lufkin Daily News, Terrance Demound Barnes, 31, was indicted on a charge of capital murder, according to county records. Barnes confessed to stabbing Rosa and Pepe Pina to death July 26 at the home they shared on John Kolb Road east of Lufkin, according to Angelina County Sheriff’s Office investigators. Following a 20-hour manhunt on state Highway 103 east, Barnes was found hiding under a log inside a hunting lease off Farm Road 1669, 10 miles from where the murders took place.
