Young Boy Drowns in Henderson County

PAYNE SPRINGS — A young boy has drowned in Cedar Creek Lake. The youngster, Truitt Kennedy, who was nearly two, and his four year old brother, were playing near the lake near the Southwood Shores area when the boy fell into the water. The accident happened around noon Thursday. He was rushed to East Texas Medical Center Gun Barrel City, where he was pronounced dead. Henderson County Game Warden Dustin Balfaufens along with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department are conducting the investigation.
