New Group Backs Green for Sheriff

TYLER — A group known as the Smith County Tea Party Special Election Committee forms to support sheriff candidate Chris Green. The group claims Green has been wrongfully attacked during the campaign. Green faces Larry Smith in a July 31 GOP runoff that will decide the county’s next sheriff. Smith’s backers include Grassroots America – We the People.
