Man Found Growling, Lifting Imaginary Weights

LUFKIN — Law enforcement arrested a Lufkin man after receiving a unique report of strange activity Friday morning. According to the Lufkin Police Department, officers were called to the Motel 6 located on the 1100 block of South Timberland Drive around 11:36 to reports of a man acting strangely. When officers arrived, they found Derrick Lews, 37, lifting imaginary weights and growling outside a motel room. According to KETK, it was later discovered that he was high on PCP. He was arrested and booked into the Angelina County Jail. His bond was set at $500.
