East Texas Man Sentenced for Federal Drug Violations

MARSHALL — A 29-year-old Karnack man has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking violations. Britton Clay Podzemny pleaded guilty on Feb. 27 to possession of pseudoephedrine with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine and was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison on June 28. On July 26, 2009, Podzemny purchased cold pills containing pseudoephedrine at Walgreens and Wal-Mart stores in Longview. Podzemny also made additional purchases at other stores on other occasions in the area, all in furtherance of his methamphetamine manufacturing activities.
