Falling Tree Limbs Pose a Problem at Tyler State Park

Posted/updated on: June 27, 2012 at 5:54 pm

TYLER — Campers at Tyler State Park are facing danger from dead trees brought on by the drought. Campers reported over the weekend that branches were falling off the trees onto campsites and RVs and even onto some campers. Luckily, no one was hurt. But park superintendent Bill Smart tells KETK that the park is doing everything it can to take care of the problem. Smart says crews have started removing limbs. Park officials add that the falling limbs are a statewide concern. They hope to fix the problem before the Fourth of July weekend.
