State Sales Tax Revenue Shows Mixed Results for East Texas

EAST TEXAS — Sales tax revenue numbers are in, and statewide numbers are up. But here in East Texas, the results are varied, according to KETK and the Texas Comptroller’s Office. The City of Henderson posted a large increase of 15.58%, but nearby Kilgore’s sales tax revenue is down more than 10% from 2011. Longview and Tyler also showed slight decreases when compared to the same time last year. Here are more detailed figures for the area’s two largest cities:
