Mexican National Guilty of Federal Immigration Violations

TYLER — A 32-year-old Mexican National has pleaded guilty to federal immigrations violations in East Texas. Raul Campos Alegria pleaded guilty in a Tyler courtroom Tuesday to being unlawfully in the United States after having been previously deported. According to information presented in court, on Dec. 14, 2011, Alegria was located in Smith County after he had already ben deported following a drug trafficking conviction. Alegria now faces up to 20 years in federal prison, to be followed by deportation. A sentencing date has not been set.
