Early Voting Number Up from Last Year

TYLER — If you haven’t voted by now, you still have time to cast your votes before Memorial Day weekend. If you want to vote early, Friday is the last day to do it for the entire state of Texas. On Tuesday, KETK talked to people who say they’re casting their votes before they travel this holiday weekend. And they’re not alone, according to the Smith County election’s office. As of Sunday, more than 6,000 people chose to vote early this year. That’s a big turnout compared to last year at the polls. Karen Nelson says because the primary election is being on May 29th, after a holiday weekend, she’s not surprised people wanted to get it out of the way before they left town. May 29th is the date for the Primary Election. Early Voting ends tomorrow evening at 7:00.
