Firefighter’s Home Catches Fire

SAND FLAT — A Red Springs firefighter battles a blaze at his own home in Sand Flat. On Sunday night, around 8:40, a house caught fire on County Road 313 near Winona due to a curling iron that had been left on. When crews arrived at the scene, they contained the fire within eight minutes. According to KETK, No injuries were reported. A cat and 4 kittens were rescued.
