Upshur County Constable Candidate Arrested

GILMER — A man seeking political office in Upshur County was arrested and booked into the county jail Monday, records show. That’s according to KETK and the Longview News-Journal. Gary Wayne Henson Jr., 34, who is a candidate for Pct. 4 constable, was arrested by Gilmer police, charged with assault causing bodily injury family violence, and booked in the county jail at about 5:20 p.m. Henson was released on $3,000 bond about 9:45 p.m., judicial records show. Henson is opposing incumbent Pct. 4 Constable Phillip Hill and Dewayne LaGrone in the Upshur County Republican Party Primary.
