Suspect Identified in Fatal Longview Shooting

LONGVIEW — Longview police officials have identified the man allegedly responsible for a fatal shooting over the weekend. That’s according to KETK. On Saturday at around 9:15 p.m., authorities were called to a shooting in the 800 block of Dalston Avenue. When they arrived, officers found 38-year old Francisco Roque, of Longview, lying in a yard with a gunshot wound. Roque and another man, identified as 26-year old Jose Amaro Olivarez of Longview, had been drinking, according to witnesses. According to police, the two began arguing, and Olivarez pulled a gun and shot Roque multiple times. The gunman then reportedly fled the scene. Roque was taken to a local hospital where he died from his wounds.
Police are asking for help in locating Olivarez. He is described as having short, dark colored hair and a long beard tied into braids. He was last seen driving a 1998 Ford Winstar van.
