Smith County Home Destroyed by Fire

SMITH COUNTY — A northeastern Smith County home has been destroyed by a weekend fire and one person has been injured. Fire officials confirm with KETK that they were called out to a structure fire at 1:00 Saturday afternoon just outside Tyler on Morningside Drive between Pearl and Jimmie streets. Officials say when crews arrived at the scene; the building was fully engulfed in flames. The fire was put out, and the owner of the house was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
