Trial Begins for Woman Accused in Fatal Hit and Run

MINEOLA — Trial proceedings begin for a woman accused in the hit-and-run death of a Mineola teen. According to the Longview News-Journal, Connie Young was indicted in the October death of Jacob Burrell, who was hit by a car while walking home on the shoulder of U.S. 69. The event was witnessed by another driver who reported the vehicle left the scene. The teen died at a Tyler hospital the next day. Young, a longtime nurse, is charged with serious bodily injury.
