TYLER — Tyler ISD Superintendent Randy Reid is joining others concerned that testing may have become too important to children. Reid says he’ll seek school board approval this month of a resolution asking the state to step back and take a look at accountability. Reid says other school districts have already signed on. According to Reid, “I know that over 200 have already passed this resolution, and we just ask everybody to put their support behind that — we think it’s the right move.” Reid’s comments to KTBB’s Bill Coates came following the state’s first-ever STAAR Test week. On the upside, Reid said things went smoothly during the week.
