Burning Cigarette Blamed for House Fire

TYLER — Officials were called to a house fire in Tyler at 2317 Grand Avenue around 3:30 this morning. Investigators said the fire was caused by a lit cigarette left beside a bed. Four people were home at the time of the fire but were able to escape with no injuries. The house sustained heavy fire damage and is most likely a total loss. Fire officials notified the Red Cross to offer assistance to the occupants.
