Dallas Officer from East Texas Faces Sex Charges

DALLAS — A Dallas police officer from East Texas has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a child. Charles Walker of Lone Star was arrested after allegations that he sexually assaulted a child in his family. Rains County authorities say he was released after posting a $120,000 bond. Walker is facing 10 counts of child indecency and two counts of sexual assault. Authorities say some of the charges occurred when the victim was younger than 17 and continued when the victim turned 18. Walker is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of a Dallas police investigation.
