Vacant Home Destroyed by Fire

SMITH COUNTY — An abandoned house in the Flint area is a total loss after mysteriously burning down Wednesday night. Noonday volunteer firefighters responded to what was originally thought to be a fire in the woods near the Lakeway Harbor subdivision. When they got there, they discovered it was actually an abandoned house on fire. Firefighters were able to keep the fire off of an abandoned mobile home right next to it. According to KETK, neighbors say they heard an explosion and saw kids running from the place when the fire started. Officials on scene say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
