Mother & Daughter Accused of Numerous Bank Robberies

KINDER, LA. (AP) – Louisiana State Police say a Texas mother and daughter arrested after a bank robbery in Mississippi are also accused of three holdups in Texas and west Louisiana. Louisiana State Police said Wednesday that Evie Mearlene Herrin, 57, and Amelia Darci Crew, 30, both of Cleveland, Texas, are accused of holdups Feb. 13 in Kinder, and of other bank robberies in Sulphur, Louisiana and Henderson, Texas. Sgt. James Anderson says he does not know the dates of the other two holdups. Police in Gulfport, Miss., arrested the women minutes after a bank robbery there on Monday. They remain in the Harrison County Jail. Police say that in Gulfport and Kinder, Herrin allegedly showed a gun and got money, and her daughter allegedly drove the getaway car.
