Lufkin Teen Reported as Dead Now in Critical Condition

TYLER — More than 24 hours after being taken off life support, a Lufkin teenager whose organs were to have been donated continues to breathe on his own in a Tyler hospital. The Lufkin Daily News reports that following a Sunday morning wreck on FM 1194, Jaron Parrish, 19, was flown to East Texas Medical Center-Tyler, where he remained on life support until Tuesday morning. After being told by doctors that Parrish was brain-dead, his family made the decision to take him off life support, a family member said.
