One Arrested in Smith County Death

WHITEHOUSE – One person is in custody in connection with a Smith County death. Sandy Greenhall was found Friday night shot to death on the front porch of a house on County Road 2171. The home owner, Larry Joe Smith, 57, first told sheriff’s deputies he shot Greenhall as she was breaking into his home. Investigators say after Smith changed his story several times about the shooting of his ex-girlfriend, they charged him with murder. His bond has been set at $1 million.
