Whitehouse Hires New Assistant Police Chief

WHITEHOUSE — Whitehouse Police Chief Rick Waller is on voluntary leave while DPS investigates him for alleged misappropriation of county funds. According to KETK, on Tuesday, the city council welcomed a new face, Assistant Police Chief Craig Shelton. He has more than 26 years experience with the Smith County Sheriff’s office. The city hired him after an audit illustrated some problems in the department.
