Authorities Arrest Suspect in Douglass Student Stabbing

DOUGLASS — Deputies arrested a Douglass High School teenager accused of stabbing another student during the drive back from a school field trip last Thursday, according to Nacogdoches Sheriff Kerss. Authorities took into custody John Mark Kerr, 18, of Douglass. Kerr is charged with possession of an illegal knife in places prohibited. No other charges have been filed. Sheriff Kerss tells KETK it is illegal to carry a knife on any school property. The bus was in the school parking lot when the incident happened. The victim, stabbed in the leg with a pocketknife, was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Kerr’s bail is set at $3,500.
