According to a police department news release, officers arrived quickly on scene and were advised by the store clerk that the suspect fled the area northbound across Front Street. A search of the area was conducted, but the suspect was not located.

Police say the suspect, upon confronting the store clerk, displayed a knife and demanded the money from the cash register. The suspect then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen wearing a solid green coat, possibly an old military style jacket, dark pants and a tan and brown colored scarf concealing his face. The clerk further advised the suspect appeared to be approximately 26-27 years of age but could not estimate height and weight.
