ND Trucking Firm Sold to Texas Holding Company

Otter Tail Corp. says it has sold West Fargo-based E.W. Wylie Corp. to Dallas-based Walden Smokey Point Inc. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. E.W. Wylie will continue to be operated independently, with headquarters remaining in West Fargo. It has terminals in Denver and in Tyler, Texas, and specializes in moving such items as fabricated steel, farm machinery and construction equipment. It was founded in 1938. Walden’s operating company, Smokey Point Distributing, specializes in handling large, irregular and difficult-to-transport cargo, along with aerospace parts. It is based in a town just north of Seattle, with other terminals in California, Kansas and South Carolina. It has operated since 1979.
