Car Fire Under Investigation

SMITH COUNTY — Smith County Fire officials are investigating a car fire in the Noonday area around 10:30 Monday night. Authorities say a 2000 Nissan SUV was on fire on County Road 1108, near Farm Road 2661. The vehicle was destroyed. No one was reported to be near the vehicle at the time of the fire. Investigators were able to run a license plate number and contacted the owner of the vehicle. The owner told officials she thought the SUV was in her driveway the whole time.
