Two Men Jailed after High Speed Chase

GREGG COUNTY — Officials had one suspect in custody when another jumped back into their vehicle, leading police on a chase south of Longview. A Department of Public Safety trooper was running the second suspect’s license when he got back inside the vehicle and drove away, according to DPS spokeswoman Jean Dark. Officials apprehended the driver in a hotel parking lot near Estes Parkway at Interstate 20. Dark said the chase lasted about six miles. The two men are Louisiana residents. They were identified as Patrick Lee Thomas, 27 (pictured) and Bryan Webb, 29. Thomas’ bail is set at $10,000. Webb’s is set at $40,000.
