Crash involving truck-tractor semi-trailer kills three
Posted/updated on: July 27, 2026 at 10:02 amKAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision on US-80, east of Windmill Farms Blvd. on July 26, 2026, at around 11:35 p.m. A release from DPS officials reported that a 2013 Hyundai passenger car was disabled in the right lane (eastbound) of US-80, according to a preliminary investigation. The Hyundai was being approached by a truck-tractor semi-trailer that was heading east on US-80. The Hyundai’s rear end was struck by the TTST driver, who was unable to avoid the collision and caused it to cross the bridge’s concrete railing. Two passengers, a 9-year-old and a 14-year-old child, as well as the Hyundai’s driver, Vanecia Deshun Williams, a 38-year-old woman, were declared dead at the scene. The semi trailer’s driver was not reported to have any injuries. There is currently no more information available, and the crash is still being investigated.
