Third suspect sought in Whataburger shooting

MARSHALL — The Marshall Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a third suspect connected to the June 27 shooting at Whataburger on Victory Drive that left two people dead and two others injured.

The investigative team has identified the suspect as Cortavian Tatum, 19, whose last known address is in Longview. Detectives are actively working to locate Tatum and urge anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately. The Marshall Police Department warns the public not to attempt to apprehend Tatum, who is considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting occurred in the early morning hours of June 27. Responding Marshall Police officers located four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot. Two victims, James Morrow, 20, and Jassiah Hill, 18, were pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional victims were transported by Marshall Fire Department paramedics to local medical facilities for treatment.

The investigative team made two arrests in connection with the shooting. Davion McDale Brown, 19, was arrested and charged with capital murder. In a separate arrest, Jamarrio Dominique Epps, 21, of Longview, was taken into custody by the Longview Police Department SWAT team on a Marshall Police Department warrant and charged with Murder.
