Woman charged after fatal crash

LONGVIEW – On Sunday, a woman was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and causing a fatal collision. According to Gregg County jail records, Casey Johnson, 45, of Longview, is accused of intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury and intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle. Johnson was booked into the Gregg County Jail with a $500,000 bond.

A family has shared a public fundraiser detailing a crash in Longview on June 27 in which an allegedly drunk driver crossed the median, went airborne, and collided with their car. Authorities have not yet made the victims’ identities public or verified the crash’s specifics. The fundraiser claims that Chelsea lost her husband, Clayton, in the collision. Additionally, according to the family, Hallie lost her unborn child and her husband, Kaleb, sustained a serious head injury. Bryce, Chelsea’s son, was also hurt and is recuperating.
