TYLER – Field Fastener, a leading provider of fasteners such as nuts, bolts, and screws, has announced it will invest over $2.875 million at its facility in Tyler.
The Tyler Center of Excellence on CR 2121 currently employs 26 workers, but with Field Fastener’s new $2.85 million expansion, the 16,000-square-foot facility will be able to hire 10 new full-time workers, according to our news partner KETK.
“This investment reflects our commitment to our employees, our customers, and the Tyler community,” Field Fastener director of operations Tony Ellis said. “We appreciate the support of our local partners and are excited to continue growing our operations in Smith County while creating new opportunities for our team and the region.”
Smith County and Smith County Emergency Services District No. 2 are supporting the expansion by giving the facility’s improvement a tax abatement, which is tied to Field’s investment and the hiring of new staff.
“One of the most effective economic development strategies is helping existing employers grow and expand right here at home”, said Scott Martinez, President and CEO of the Tyler Economic Development Council. “Field Fastener’s decision to invest nearly $3 million in its Tyler operation demonstrates confidence in our workforce, our business climate, and the future of Smith County. We appreciate the support of Smith County and Smith County ESD No. 2 and congratulate Field Fastener on this important milestone.”
