Drug investigation leads to two arrestsHENDERSON COUNTY – Two men have been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing in the Athens area, according to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office. An Athens police officer, a group of Henderson County deputies and investigators executed a drug search warrant on Wednesday at approximately 7:14 p.m. According to Sheriff Botie Hillhouse, narcotics investigators disrupted a drug-running scheme that resulted in the arrest of two men from Athens and halted the flow of cocaine, codeine, and marijuana from this area. Henderson County 392nd Judicial District Judge Scott McKee issued a search warrant, which was carried out in the 400 block of Stoneleigh Street. Two men, David LaJames Hurd, 39, and Hasani Sameel Pariall, 37, were arrested during the search warrant’s execution.

Investigators searched the house and found several digital scales, plastic baggies, mixing bowls, and suspected cocaine that was packaged and ready for sale. During the investigation, it was found that Hurd was wanted in two different counties for various drug offenses and evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle. Hasani Sameel Pariall was charged with possession of a controlled substance and manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance. He has $150,000 in bonds. David LaJames Hurd was arrested on four outstanding warrants and marijuana possession charges. He has $65,000 in bonds.
