Highway 69 Mission will closeJACKSONVILLE – The faith-based nonprofit Highway 69 Mission announced on Monday that it will be permanently closing at the end of this summer.

According to our news partner KETK, the Highway 69 Mission, based in Jacksonville, was founded in 2018 and has always tried to provide spiritual, psychological and social assistance to those seeking refuge. The mission also provides outreach services to homeless people along with those suffering from mental illnesses, substance abuse and PTSD.

The organization said the decision to close was made after seeking God’s guidance along with much prayer and thoughtful consideration.

“This decision was not made lightly. For many years, Highway 69 Mission has been blessed by the generosity, dedication, and support of countless individuals, churches, businesses, and volunteers who have shared in our mission,” the nonprofit said. “We are deeply grateful for every donation, every hour of service, every prayer, and every act of kindness that has helped make this ministry possible.”

Highway 69 Mission will officially close on Sept. 1 and as the organization prepares for the closure, it will stop accepting donations starting on July 1. Additionally, all remaining inventory and other mission assets will be liquidated during July and August.

Ahead of its closure, the mission will remain open on Thursdays and Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
