Former Deputy Faces New Sex Assault Charges

MARSHALL — A former Harrison County deputy is arrested for a second time after new sexual assault charges are brought against him. Harrison County Sheriff Tom McCool says a third person has come forward and accused former deputy Eddie Nichols. “We don’t know where that’s gonna end, says McCool. “There could very well be other allegations brought.” Nichols and his wife, Sharon, were both arrested and charged with indecency with a child earlier this year. Following the latest arrest, Nichols was released on $100,000 bond. Nichols was terminated from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department following his first arrest; however, he remains the pastor of a local church, Harvest Christian Fellowship.
