Former Bookkeeper Pleads Guilty to Theft

LUFKIN – A former bookkeeper at a Lufkin veterinary clinic has pleaded guilty to stealing money from the office. Melissa Suzanne McCleskey, 33, had been accused of stealing over $350,000 from the business. Following a pre-sentencing investigation, McCleskey will be sentenced in January. She could get up to life in prison. An audit of the business led to the discovery of the missing funds and falsified documents.
