Ray Announces for Van Zandt County Sheriff

GRAND SALINE — Lindsey Ray, a Grand Saline resident, has announced his candidacy for Van Zandt County Sheriff. Ray is seeking the Republican Party nomination in the March 6, 2012, primary election. Ray stated, “I am seeking the Republican Party nomination for Sheriff of Van Zandt County because I care deeply about Van Zandt County. I believe that I am uniquely qualified for the position of Sheriff and I am committed to effective, efficient and professional law enforcement.”
Ray is a veteran law enforcement officer with over 25 years experience. He holds a Master Peace Officer certificate from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education. Additionally, he holds a Law Enforcement Instructor certification and a Firearms Instructor certification and is a Drug Recognition Expert. Ray is retired from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
