A status conference has been scheduled for East Texas death row inmate Robert Roberson after he was granted an execution stay this past October, according to our news partners at KETK. Roberson’s attorney’s office announced, his status conference has been set for Feb. 27 and will be held over Zoom. The conference is a pre-trial meeting where attorneys will review the case’s progress and explore possible settlement options.
Additionally, an evidentiary hearing has been tentatively scheduled for the week of June 15. During the hearing, parties will present evidence and testimonies that will help determine Roberson’s future.
Roberson, a former resident of Anderson County, was sentenced to death in 2003 after the alleged murder of his 2-year-old daughter, Nikki Curtis, who was ruled to have been killed by shaken baby syndrome, allegedly caused by Roberson.
