Stein announces re-election campaignTYLER — David Stein announced his intention to run for re-election as Smith County Republican Party Chairman, seeking a fourth term. According to our news partner KETK, Since 2020, Stein and Smith County Republicans have worked diligently to keep the Party strong and relevant. During that time, Smith County has remained heavily Republican and a model for counties across the state. The Party has recruited more Precinct Chairs, kept finances in great shape, elevated its presence in the community by being visible at events in all areas of the county, and continued to elect strong conservative Republicans to local, state, and federal offices.

Stein currently serves as President of the Texas Republican County Chairmen’s Association, is Board Chair for the East Texas Symphony Orchestra, and is active in several civic and community organizations. He is a former Smith County Commissioner, previously served as President of the Republican Club of Smith County in 2009, 2012, 2013, and 2014, and is a member of the Tyler Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast Steering Committee. Stein will appear on the ballot in the 2026 Republican Primary on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
