Pedestrian Injured in Tyler Accident Identified

TYLER – Police identify a vehicle-pedestrian accident victim as 64-year-old Gregory Burke of Tyler. According to reports, Burke was seriously injured Tuesday night when hit by a minivan on the Troup highway. The accident happened around 6:15 near the Wal-Mart store. Investigators say Burke had crossed three lanes of traffic before getting hit in the turning lane. Burke was crossing the roadway in mid-block heading towards Wal-Mart and was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Troup Hwy. He was taken to East Texas Medical Center with possible life threatening injuries and was last listed in critical condition. The investigation into the accident continues.
