Smith County Seizes Guns, Drugs, and Money in Morning Raid

ARP — Smith County officials found a cache of weapons and meth in a raid early Tuesday morning in the Arp area. According to KETK, deputies seized 47 weapons, 28 grams of meth, 5 televisions and $5,000 from a residence in the 10,000 block of County Road 3197. Authorities arrested 61-year old John Wendall Bayless and 54-year old Tina Ray Bayless. Sheriff J.B. Smith says the department believes that the weapons and money were traded for drugs. The investigation took about 8 months to complete.
