Longview Fire Causes Children’s Evacuation

LONGVIEW – A fire in a storage building behind a Longview day care forced the evacuation of nearly 30 children. The fire was reported around 4:00 Monday afternoon behind Garrett’s TLC Learn Center in the 1600 block of Mobberly Avenue. As the fire grew it broke out a back window of the day care center. That was when the smoke alarm sounded and the staff was able to get the youngsters safely from the building. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
