Rising Prices Concern Food Bank

TYLER — Rising food prices take their toll on everyone — including local food banks trying to feed the needy. Peanut butter is a prime example. The East Texas Food Bank’s Karolyn Davis tells KETK there was an approximate $2-per-case increase in the price of peanut butter the last time the food bank bought it. Davis says that’s significant because peanut butter is a key item for her agency. Some food banks are now taking a harder look at less-expensive canned tuna as an alternative if prices keep going up.
