One Person Dead after Being Hit by Train in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE — A man has died after being struck by a train in Jacksonville. The accident occurred Sunday near Woodrow Street in downtown Jacksonville. Police have identified the victim as Brandal Destin Shepard, 21, of Jacksonville. Police say they believe Shepard was wearing headphones and did not hear the train approaching him. Officials believe Shepard died due to blunt force trauma. An autopsy has been ordered.
