Marshall Police arrest man for sexual assault of a child

Marshall – On Friday, September 26, the Marshall Police Department’s Special Response Team (SRT), working in conjunction with the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, arrested a man
wanted on serious charges. Florencio Scott Sauceda, II, 23, was taken into custody in Diana, Texas, and transported to the Harrison County Jail. Sauceda was wanted on warrants for Sexual Assault of a Child and Continuous Violence Against Family.

When Sauceda was located by the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office in Diana, he barricaded
himself inside a residence. The Marshall Police Department’s SRT responded to the scene and
successfully executed the arrest.
This arrest was the result of coordinated efforts between multiple agencies. The Marshall Police
Department extends its appreciation to Longview Police Chief Anthony Boone and Upshur
County Sheriff Larry Webb for their agencies’ cooperation in bringing this case to a successful
resolution.
“Individuals who commit violent crimes and then attempt to evade justice will be pursued and
held accountable,” said Marshall Police Chief Cliff Carruth. “This case highlights the importance
of strong partnerships with our neighboring law enforcement agencies and our shared
commitment to protecting the public.”
