Aggravated assault suspect in custody

UPDATE: According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Pruitt was found and taken into custody earlier this evening following an anonymous tip.
WOOD COUNTY — Our news partners at KETK report that a man with outstanding felony warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon escaped from Wood County deputies on Wednesday. The Wood County Sheriff’s Office said around 6 a.m., they had received an anonymous tip of a person who had outstanding felony warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. They then went to Caden Eric Pruitt’s residence in Hawkins, where they took him into custody. While deputies finished their investigation, Priutt escaped and fled.
Additional resources have been called to assist; however, Pruitt remains at large. Pruitt is 5 feet 10 inches, weighs approximately 130 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen with no shirt, grey shorts, and black socks.
The City of Hawkins urges residents not to answer their doors at this time. Anyone who sees Pruitt is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 903-763-2201 or Wood County Crime Stoppers at 903-760-1008.
