The district’s Superintendent, Dr. Marla Sheppard, said Longview ISD has been working hard at achieving a higher standard.

According to our news partner KETK, students displayed higher levels of reading and math comprehension throughout elementary and secondary schools. The district received 52 campus distinctions in 2025 compared to 40 in 2024.
