Rep. Moran optimistic on passing of the “One Big, Beautiful Bill”TYLER – After “One Big, Beautiful Bill” was passed, East Texas Congressman Nathaniel Moran (R-TX-01) released a statement about how he believes the legislation gives American Families a chance to preserve the promise of the American Dream.

After sessions in both the House and the Senate, the bill was officially passed on Thursday afternoon. Moran was one of 218 members of the House who voted in favor of the bill, while 214 members voted against the bill.

The ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ is a fiscal package bill from President Donald Trump with the goal of cutting $1.5 trillion from the government’s budget to establish different tax laws, overtime pay, and more.

In his statement, Rep. Moran wrote about how the passing of the bill reinforces the government’s commitment to the American people and small businesses.

“Today, we renewed our commitment to the American people: to the families working hard to make ends meet, to the small businesses striving to grow, and to the next generation who deserve to inherit a stronger, freer nation.” said Rep. Moran.

Moran also emphasized that the bill was created to help the working class, including teachers, farmers and hardworking East Texans.

“It’s about making sure they get to keep more of what they earn so they and their families can realize the American Dream with less interference from the federal government.,” Moran said.

According to Moran, the bill strives to support working-class families, small business owners and rural communities in a number of different ways, including no tax on tips, no tax on car loan interest, tax relief for those working overtime, and additional tax relief for seniors. It protects family farms and rural small businesses by making the doubled Death Tax exemption permanent.
The bill empowers working families through permanent paid leave tax credits, expanded childcare access, and new savings accounts for every child at birth. It also revitalizes American manufacturing by allowing 100% immediate expensing for new factories, equipment, and facility improvements

While Moran admits the bill has its imperfections, he believes it gives Americans the best possibility for personal prosperity and the opportunity, saying, “Like any major legislation, this bill is not perfect. But the outcome is a clear win for the American people. It reflects our belief that personal prosperity should never be punished; that government should never stand in the way of grit and hard work; and that the American Dream must remain within reach for every citizen, no matter their zip code.”
